The Duty Legacy Limited was set up in 2023 under the directorship of James Joseph. The Duty Legacy provides legal consultancy on both a paid and pro bono basis on some of the greatest challenges faced to society.
The Duty Legacy's mission is to provide advice, guidance and instruction to governments, parliament's non-governmental institutions, charities and private persons to advocate for change.
The Duty Legacy Ltd was set up with a mission to create real, tangible and systemic difference for survivors of atrocity and conflict in the societies usually overlooked by the global north
We work to capacity build, creating change and putting justice in the hands of those most affected by injustice, and humanise the legacy of atrocity behind the politics of pressing human rights crises.
The Duty Legacy Ltd has assisted with educational resources on 'Uncovering the Names' of the victims of the Bosnian Genocide with the Department of Archeology at Staffordshire University, reports on historic atrocities in Bagladesh, Burma, Tigray and more, as well as campaigning for recognition and accountability.
